Why should I help prostitutes?

Didn't they just make bad choices? Shouldn't they suffer the natural consequences for their actions? It's not that simple...

• Would you help a little girl who was trapped in poverty?

• Would you help a little girl who was being neglected in foster care?

• Would you help a little girl who was being molested by her step-father?

• Would you help a young woman who was being beaten by her boyfriend?

• Would you help a young woman who was homeless?

• Would you help a young woman who was using drugs to numb her pain?

Would you help a woman who was hopeless because her life thus far consisted of poverty, neglect, sexual abuse, physical abuse, homelessness, and drug addiction? These are the women of Street's Hope. Please help us help them.

Important Note: At times people have said to us that these women need to take personal responsibility for their actions and suffer the natural consequences of their choices. We agree.

Personal responsibility is extremely important. That is part of the healing process at Street's Hope. Women are taught that their choices and actions lead to consequences, and they learn to make better choices.

Our women are already suffering the consequences of both their choices and the choices of others. We cannot and will not interfere with natural consequences. However, that is not the end of the story. If we all only suffered the natural consequences of our actions, we would only experience the judgment of God and not His mercy and grace. He came to extend His grace and mercy to us and asked that we also extend it to others. In fact, He said that whatever we did to the least of these we were doing to Him.

Please help us show our women God’s grace and mercy as they learn to make better choices and begin to suffer the natural consequences of these positive choices.”
