Our Work

No little girl says, "I want to be a prostitute when I grow up." By the time that "choice" has been made, many, many things have gone wrong in her life, making this "choice" seem as if it were the only option.

Most of the women who are prostituting got into the industry between the ages of 13-18. They were children! The overall development of each woman typically stops at the point in which she began prostituting or abusing drugs. Thus if a woman began prostituting at age 13, she is in essence emotionally and often educationally a 13 year old little girl in a 25, 35, or 45 year old body.

What would you do for a 13 year old who had been having sex in order to buy food, had been abusing drugs to cover the pain that was her life, had no education, no money, and no support from people who had her best interests in mind? That’s what we do for the women of Street's Hope.

Typically this looks like:

  • Food
  • Shelter
  • Clothing
  • Mentoring
  • Education
  • Life Skills
  • Case Management
  • Employment Assistance
  • Individual & Group Counseling
  • Drug/Alcohol Recovery Groups
