Housing
One of our greatest challenges to date has been adequate safe housing and a supportive community. We at Street's Hope realized the need for our own housing to make this challenging program as strong as it could be.
Great news! In June 2006, Street's Hope purchased a home ideal for transitional living. This home, located a short drive away from the city and yet miles away from the former lifestyle of our women, has eight bedrooms and was built with traditional living in mind. We are currently finishing up the reconstruction of the house as mandated by the city. Please see the "News" page for more detailed information on the reconstruction.
When the reconstruction project is complete, this home will allow us to house up to seven women in a safe, supportive community. This home is key to giving our women an opportunity to begin new lives. Please join us for our Grand Opening Open House coming in June! Details forthcoming.
Our future goals include not only one house, but three. An entry level house where there would be a great deal of structure and guidance. An intermediate house where the women would transition out of such heavy structure and an graduate house that would almost be independent living but maintain the community and support of Street's Hope.
